Prior to her dental education, she graduated from the first 2-year program in dental technology, with an associate’s degree from LSUSD in 1977. She worked as a certified dental technician, fabricating dental prostheses such as crowns, bridges and removable dental prosthetics. During her career as a dental technician, she attended part-time studies at Tulane University and UNO before attending UNO full time to complete her pre-dental requirements. She was accepted to LSUSD in 1984 with minimum requirements.

Dr. Hernandez is a member of New Orleans Dental Association (NODA) and the Louisiana Dental Association (LDA). Moreover, she owns her own practice in Jefferson, Louisiana, the oldest suburb in New Orleans area. Her patient-base extends into Greater New Orleans area, which includes Metairie, Kenner, Westbank, and Eastbank. She’s honored that her patient base also extends into the Northshore, Baton Rouge, and Houma areas as well.

Dr. Teresita is fluent in Spanish, thereby serving a large percentage of Hispanic patients in the area. She is Cuban-American and is very proud of her heritage. She immigrated to USA at the age of 5. She attended grammar school in the Marigny area and high school in the Bywater area. As you can see, Dr. Hernandez has very well established roots in New Orleans. She presently resides in Jefferson Parish. She is a proud parent of 2 school-aged children. Her hobbies include taking care and having fun with her pets: 3 dogs, 2 parrots and a rex rabbit. In her spare time, she also enjoys gardening in the country, traveling with her family and completing house renovations. She is a hands-on dentist and mother who is very involved in managing her practice and rearing her 2 children.

We look forward to welcoming you as an addition to our family of patients.

“Terry has been my dentist for over 10 years. She is methodical and exacting. And she has taken excellent care of my teeth. Her practice accepts insurance and most of the staff is Spanish speaking.” – Jen L.
